Benedict Cumberbatch says he has a horror of knowing what to say when accepting awards
Benedict Cumberbatch has admitted he was hoping not to win at the Baftas
The Imitation Game star is up for best actor at both the British awards ceremony and at the Oscars later this month, but, according to The Sun, he has been talking about his horror of actually having to give an acceptance speech.
On the subject of a previous win , he said: “It was the most crucifying, embarrassing moment I ever had.
“I know it sounds crazy and I know that is why I was there, but I didn’t think about what I might have to say.
“I was going to stand there, sheepishly holding something and looking pretty.”
Benedict will be hoping to put his gracious loser face to use this weekend against category mates Eddie Redmayne, Michael Keaton, Jake Gyllenhaal and Ralph Fiennes.
